1. What is ALOHA Mental Arithmetic?

ALOHA is a holistic brain development program that exercises children’s brain hemispheres to accelerate their mental arithmetic skills. Designed for children of ages 4-13 years old, ALOHA works on enhancing children’s Emotional Quotient (EQ) and Intelligence Quotient (IQ), improving their cognitive skills to up their academic performance, especially in mathematics!
ALOHA enhances children’s ability to do calculations without the aid of any instruments such as a calculator or other gadgets, but through the mental image of an abacus only!

2. What is Mental Arithmetic?

A traditional way of calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication or division, square root, etc. that carried out in the mind only rather than paper or using a device such as a calculator or without writing down any numbers.

3. Why does ALOHA use mental arithmetic and abacus as media for brain development?
​
The abacus is first used as the key element in teaching mental arithmetic to teach children basic concepts of mind math and improve both sides of the brain. Students learn to perform arithmetic operations with the help of the abacus, one of the oldest calculation tools.

4. Why should my child develop strong mental math skills when there are calculators and computers to use for computing numbers?

Mental Math skills help the child perform math operations with speed and accuracy without the abacus, calculators, computers or pencil and paper. It will process to stimulate memory, imagination and concentration and abstract. ALOHA kids well rounded and academically strong since we encourage the development of the brain, especially the right hemisphere of brighter and healthier brain.

6. How will this program help improve my child’s performance in school?

Exercising mental processing speed helps children think more clearly and quickly, improve reaction time and increase alertness and awareness. Having a better memory can help them remember names, find locations and recall important information more quickly and accurately.
All will have a positive impact on their self-esteem and dexterity to face the daily challenges.
7. How long does the program last?

ALOHA is a continuing program. The expected average duration to finish the whole program is 4-5 years although from the first 6 months the benefits of ALOHA are already noticeable.

9. What is the child’s right age to start learning the abacus?

The best learning age for children is 4 to 6 years old. These ages matter so much on brain development. According to the analysis on the development of nervous tissues, the development and growth of the nerves will begin since 4 to 6 years old with a quickest speed, the progression will slow down after 12 years old when growth reach to 75%.

11. Are Computers and Calculators and other gadgets making the abacus outdated?

13. How much is the payment for new student?
​
A one-time registration package that includes the ALOHA kit.
Program fee that ranges from P2,500 to P4,000 per month depending on the ALOHA center location.
Workbooks depending on the itineraty of the child.
